FSU has filled out their schedule!

Let's hope this means the ACC schedule will be out by the end of the week.

Instead of West Virginia, Florida State will be playing Savannah State, which means they have two FCS teams on the schedule, and therefore have to win 7 games to be bowl elligible.

There's already a lot of smack talk about how FSU did not get a quality opponent.  That's not Florida State's fault.  West Virginia dropped out at the last minute, most of the other FBS schedules were already set, and FSU did put out offers to a fair number of FBS schools.  Those other schools said no, and in some cases scheduled their own FCS team.  Granted, Florida State was at the disadvantage of needing to have the game be a one time home game.

And before you say that FSU could cancel their trip to Morgantown in 2013 and schedule another home-and-home, let me remind you that the ACC is also going to a 9 game conference schedule, most likely in 2013.  FSU is probably going to be cancelling that game anyway to fit Syracuse into the schedule.

  2. And now Georgia Tech is holding things up! Apparently they cancelled their game with SE Louisiana to make room for us on Labor Day, and now they don't want to play Middle Tennessee State five days afterwards. I know Mid Tenn beat Maryland a couple years ago, but come on!

I suppose GT will get a new FCS team to play in Week 2, along with a reshifting of that Sun Belt superpower!

  3. During the season, Rece Davis spins the ACC Wheel of Destiny. During the offseason, he spins the ACC Wheel of Blame for who can currently hold up the longest gestating football schedule in the history of football.
