2021 Week 3 wrap-up

Oh hi there.  We're a little late getting started on the weekly wrap-ups, and there's already some significant action in the books for college football this year.

Overall, as the sport bounces back from the odd COVID season of 2020, it looks like everyone is a little rusty.  Well, Alabama is still chugging along, ruining the fun for everyone.  But almost everyone else has shown some weakness.  We're just a few upsets away from another 2007-like season.

Reminder that the conference races only count conference games.

ACC Wheel of Destiny

Divisions are back and Notre Dame is out again, but the ACC looks like it could be up for grabs this year.  Clemson is not the dominant juggernaut that they have been the past decade.  FSU looked promising in week one with a close loss to Notre Dame.  But then they lost to an FCS team.  I held out on making any opinions as I remembered 2010 VT (starting 0-2 including an FCS loss), but after they lost to Wake Forest, I'm sticking the fork in FSU.  The Coastal could be more wide open than expected since UNC opened the season with a divisional loss to VT.  But VT still needs to fire Brad Cornelson.
