Reactions from Week 3

Some good games this week! As is the new weekly tradition, some of my reactions are below.
The over-reaction:
  • Florida State is NO GOOD! How could they give up all those points to Louisville?
  • Alabama might as well be in the NFL! Not even a 21-point deficit could hold back the Tide!
  • North Dakota state beat yet another FBS team! They could go 12-0 in the MAC or Mountain West!
  • Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and Ole Miss are done for the season, with their main goal of the CFP all but out of reach!
  • Miami pounded Appalachian State in Boone! The Hurricanes are BACK!!

The "wait-and-see" reaction:
  • After drubbing Boston College 49-0, might Virginia Tech have what it takes to contend for the ACC Coastal in 2016?
  • How about Arkansas? Can they get over the Texas A&M hump after losing in OT to the Aggies for 2 years straight?
  • Just how well can Houston keep the playoff momentum? Are some dominant wins over lesser foes on the horizon for the Cougars?

Tony's Takeaways:
  • The "drop the ball right at the goal line" thing has to be the dumbest thing to become a thing! Cal got lucky Texas didn't recover a moment sooner, and Oklahoma lost convincingly anyway.  But it CAN BE COSTLY (see Oregon at Utah, 2014). This needs to STOP!!!
  • Alabama, Stanford, and Michigan all showed that they are mortal. One slip-up to the wrong team, and things could go downhill fast!
  • Apparently the demand for high-impact Noon games is on the rise. FSU-Louisville this past weekend, and now Wisconsin-Michigan State (on BTN?!?!?) coming up in Week 4.
  • The Group of 5 race continues to intrigue me. San Diego State is now ranked, Boise could very well be soon.  Central and Western Michigan look to have some potential. While I do believe the New Year's Six spot is Houston's to lose, there are certainly a bevy of teams capable of stepping up and making a run.
