Countdown to Kickoff 2015 #8: Looking Forward to the Big 12

We already started going through the Power 5 conferences, picking which single game from each team intrigued us the most.  We continue during the "official" countdown to kickoff with the Big 12.

With this conference, if two teams share the same game, we're just going to combine their entry.

Once more, it looks like Baylor, TCU, and Kansas State are going to be near the top of the conference, but it also looks like Texas and Oklahoma could begin to rise up again, and that would make for an interesting power shift.

Baylor & TCU - Both teams just missed the CFP last year, and both were upset.  TCU was a bit more upset, because they blew a 21 point lead in the 4th quarter to Baylor last year.  This could potentially be the most anticipated Big 12 game of the year.

Baylor at TCU, November 27.

Iowa State & Kansas - The Cyclones have nowhere to go but up, and Kansas could be their best shot at a conference win.  The Jayhawks only have a little room to fall, but they can at least hold steady by winning this one.

Kansas at Iowa State, October 3.

Kansas State - The Wildcats seem best positioned to knock off the Bears in the Little Apple.

Baylor at Kansas State, November 5.

Oklahoma - Maybe it's just a Power 5 non-conference match, but it could also be a game that gets attention shifted back to Oklahoma.

Oklahoma at Tennessee, September 12.

Oklahoma State - Winning two Bedlam games in a row would be huge.  It could also cement Bob Stoops' place in the "over-the-hill" club, at least with the Sooners.

Oklahoma at Oklahoma State, November 28.

Texas - I always take note when a big school travels to South Bend for prime time.

Texas at Notre Dame, September 5.

Texas Tech - It's always been difficult for me to get excited about Texas Tech, mainly because they're overshadowed by literally every other school in the state.  However, they do have an interesting game that is a reunion of former members of the Southwest Conference, one of the forefathers of the Big 12.

Texas Tech at Arkansas, September 19.

West Virginia - This game could be hyped up as a comedy.  It's the Big Ten (with 14 teams) vs. the Big 12 (with 10 teams), and in both cases, it's members from a lower tier of the conference.

Maryland at West Virginia, September 26.
