Games to Watch -- week 6

Hard to believe we're already approaching the midpoint of the season.  Well, it's a combo of this week and next week, I suppose.

Friday, October 9
8 PM
NC State at Virginia Tech, ESPN.  Okay, so what are we getting out of these two teams this year?  VT is all over the place, and we don't even know which QB is playing.  Meanwhile, NC State is historically a pain in the rear for anyone who tries to follow the ACC.  They win the games they're suppose to lose, but lose the easy ones.

Saturday, October 10
Noon
LSU vs. South Carolina, ESPN.  LSU is trending up, SC is trending down.  But, the intriguing part of this game is that it was supposed to be a home game for the Gamecocks.  Due to intense flooding in the area, the game is being swapped to LSU's stadium.  So, not sure if it should officially be listed as SC at LSU.

Oklahoma vs. Texas, ABC.  Must be time for the state fair.

12:30 PM
UVA at Pitt, ACC Network.  Two teams I don't like.  Pitt could be a team to watch in the ACC, while UVA is just trying to not be a complete dumpster fire.

3:30 PM
Georgia Tech at Clemson, ABC/ESPN2.  This is the game that will set the tone for the second half of the season.  GT started off strong winning two games by 60 points each, but then dropped the next three, two of which are conference games.  Another loss here would certainly put them out of contention, even in the topsy turvy Coastal division.  Clemson, meanwhile, needs to make sure they don't Clemson a week after beating Notre Dame.

Navy at Notre Dame, NBC.  Always an intriguing rivalry.

7 PM
Arkansas at Alabama, ESPN.  The Razorbacks are looking to take that step up in the SEC, after being perpetually stuck in the middle of the division for years.  They took a close loss from the Tide last year, and will be looking to avenge that.  MIG

Oklahoma State at West Virginia, ESPN2.  This could be setting up for one of these teams to suddenly be contending for the title.

8 PM
Miami at Florida State, ABC.  Who knows what to expect when these teams go at it?

10 PM
Cal at Utah, ESPN.    Two unbeatens in the Pac-12.  It could be the most exciting game that no one watches.
