Games to Watch -- week 7

Here's where we start getting into full swing for conference races.  This weekend seems largely concentrated around the 3:30 time slot on Saturday.

Thursday, October 15
7 PM
Auburn at Kentucky, ESPN.  Kentucky can use a win here to build momentum within the SEC East.  Auburn needs a win just to kickstart their conference slate.

10:30 PM
UCLA at Stanford, ESPN.  Man, can't the Pac-12 start playing within their own divisions yet?

Saturday, October 17
Noon
West Virginia at Baylor, Fox.  WVU is trying to be better than paper says they should be.  But will the number of burned couches be directly related to the number of points scored on them?  Oh, and don't forget about Baylor wanting revenge for the loss that most likely kept them out of the CFP last year.

Ole Miss at Memphis, ABC/ESPN2.  It's an SEC team going on the road to an up and coming American school.  I read that the Ole Miss coach wanted this for recruiting, but he might be getting more than he bargained for.  Expect the Memphis coach, Justin Fuente, to be a name thrown around a lot for the coaching vacancies open this year.

Louisville at FSU, ESPN.  I called this as a possible passing of the torch in the Atlantic back in June, but I'm pretty sure I was wrong.  MIG

12:30 PM
Pitt at Georgia Tech, ACC Network.  I want Pitt to lose to help out the rest of the Coastal, but GT has just been bad after their first two games.  But they can't possibly lose out, can they?

3:30 PM
Alabama at Texas A&M, CBS.  I'm surprised to see these two ranked back to back.  I guess this will be the true test for both teams to see what we really have in the SEC West.

Virginia Tech at Miami, ESPNU.  I can't not watch this game.

Michigan State at Michigan, ESPN.  One of the three biggest games in the B1G this year, and certainly one of the more surprising ones.  Michigan is coming off three straight shutouts, while Michigan State still keeps barely winning.

Rutgers at Indiana, BTN.  We thought it would be the battle for the bottom of the division, and a key turning point for both teams' seasons in getting to a bowl.  But it looks like Indiana might get there fairly easily.  MIG

7 PM
Florida at LSU, ESPN.    It's like a midseason SEC championship, as both teams are leading their divisions right now.

7:30 PM
USC at Notre Dame, NBC.    USC needs to get their mind back on football, with their coach getting fired this week.

8 PM
Penn State at Ohio State, ABC.  If PSU wants to get back on the big stage in a positive way, beating #1 will surely help.
