2021 Week 8 wrap-up

We've already got the first team eliminated from conference contention!  And we could have the first division wrapped up by Halloween.  Virginia Tech needs to fire Brad Cornelsen.

Reminder that the conference races only count conference games. Tiebreaker info is under each team, separated into wins (W) and losses (L).

   L:  Florida

-Florida (2-3) needs losses by Kentucky (3), plus additional Georgia losses (2).  They will be eliminated if they lose to Georgia in Week 9.

-Mizzou (0-3) needs losses by Kentucky (3) and Tennessee (2).  They will be eliminated with a loss OR Georgia win.
   L:  Kentucky, Tennessee

Any of the 3-loss teams will be eliminated with a loss OR Georgia win.  (For Florida, that would be the same thing as they play each other.)

   W: Indiana

Needs help:
-Maryland (1-3) needs losses by Ohio State (4) plus additional losses by Michigan (2) and Michigan State (2).
   L:  OSU

Out of control:
-Indiana (0-4) is likely already out, as they would need to force a multi-team tie at 5-4, which is highly unlikely since the three 4-0 teams have yet to play.  Besides, they have already lost to two of those teams.  They will be fully mathematically eliminated with a loss OR a win by OSU or MSU.
   L: PSU, MSU, OSU
-Rutgers (0-4) is probably out as well, since they are on the wrong side of tiebreakers with the current 4-0 teams.  Still, it's too early to run through all sorts of projections when they will likely take care of it themselves next week.  They will be fully mathematically eliminated with a loss OR a win by OSU.  (Even if Rutgers wins, the winner of Michigan/MSU plus OSU with a win over PSU would both be at 5-0 and yet to play each other, meaning that one of those three teams would be guaranteed to get to 6 wins.)
   L:  OSU, Michigan, Michigan State
