Week 6 wrap up

Week 6 means bowl game eligibility!


ACC
Coastal
Controls destiny:
GT (2-0) has tiebreakers over Pitt and UNC.
Miami (2-0) has a tiebreaker over Duke.
VT (1-1) has only played cross-divisional games.
UVA (1-0) has a tiebreaker over Duke.

Needs help:
Duke (1-2) needs three Miami losses, 2 UVA losses, and an extra loss from GT.  They have a tiebreaker over UNC.

Just start winning:
Pitt (0-2) lost to GT.
UNC (0-3) lost to Duke and GT.

Atlantic
Controls destiny:
Clemson (4-0) has tiebreakers over Louisville and BC.
NC State (3-0) has tiebreakers over FSU, Louisville, and Syracuse.

Needs help:
Louisville (1-2) needs three Clemson losses and three NC State losses.
Florida State (1-2) needs three NC State losses and an extra Clemson loss.  They have a tiebreaker over WF.
Syracuse (1-1) needs two NC State losses.

Just start winning:
Wake Forest (0-2) lost to LSU and Clemson.
Boston College (0-2) lost to Clemson.

Bowl eligible:  Clemson

East
Controls destiny:
Florida (3-1) has tiebreakers over Tennessee, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt.
Georgia (3-0) has a tiebreaker over Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

Needs help:
Kentucky (2-1) needs a Florida loss, but has a tiebreaker over South Carolina and Missouri.
South Carolina (2-2) needs 2 Kentucky losses, an extra Florida loss, and an extra Georgia loss, but has a tiebreaker over Missouri.

Just start winning:
Missouri (0-3) lost to USCe and Kentucky.
Tennessee (0-2) lost to Florida and Georgia.
Vanderbilt (0-3) lost to Florida and Georgia.

West
Controls destiny:
Alabama (3-0) has a tiebreaker over Texas A&M.
Auburn (3-0) has a tiebreaker over Mississippi State.
LSU (1-1) lost to Mississippi State, who is currently behind them in the standings.

Needs help:
Texas A&M (2-1) needs two Alabama losses.  They have a tiebreaker over Arkansas.
Arkansas (0-2) needs two Texas A&M losses.
Mississippi State (1-2) needs two Auburn losses, plus extra losses by Alabama and Texas A&M.  They have a tiebreaker over LSU.

Out of contention:
Ole Miss (got caught cheating)

Bowl eligible:  Alabama, Georgia
One win away:  Kentucky, Auburn
No bowl:  Ole Miss

Florida was unsuccessful in their bid to defend the Championship of Life, which has been passed on to LSU.  Auburn will be the next challenger.

Penn State (3-0) has a tiebreaker over Indiana.
Michigan State (2-0) has a tiebreaker over Michigan.

Indiana (0-2) lost to Ohio State and Penn State.
Rutgers (0-2) lost to Ohio State.

West

Wisconsin (2-0) has a tiebreaker over Northwestern and Nebraska.
Purdue (1-1) has a tiebreaker over Minnesota.

Nebraska (2-1) needs two Wisconsin losses, but has a tiebreaker over Illinois.
Iowa (1-2) needs and extra loss by Wisconsin.  They have tiebreaker over Illinois.

Northwestern (0-2) lost to Wisconsin.
Minnesota (0-2) lost to Purdue.

South
Controls destiny:
Utah (1-1) has a tiebreaker over Arizona.
UCLA (1-0) has a tiebreaker over Colorado.

Arizona State (1-1) has only played cross-divisional games.

Arizona (1-1) needs a Utah loss.  They have a tiebreaker over Colorado.

Colorado (0-3) lost to UCLA and Arizona.

Bowl eligible:  Washington, Washington State
One win away:  USC

Big 12
Controls destiny:
TCU (2-0) has tiebreakers over Oklahoma State and WVU.
Texas (2-0) has tiebreakers over Iowa State and Kansas State.
Iowa State (1-1) has a tiebreaker over Oklahoma, but lost to Texas.
Oklahoma (1-1) has a tiebreaker over Baylor, but lost to Iowa State.
West Virginia (1-1) has a tiebreaker over Kansas but lost to TCU.
Kansas State (1-1) has a tiebreaker over Baylor, but lost to Texas.
Oklahoma State (1-1) has a tiebreaker over Texas Tech, but lost to TCU.
Texas Tech (1-1) has a tiebreaker over Kansas, but lost to Oklahoma State.

In other words, if TCU and Texas both win out (other than one losing to the other), then they will go to the championship game.  However, all of the other 1-loss teams are still in play, because if they win out, they will have a tiebreaker over one of the current 2-0 teams.

Kansas (0-2) lost to WVU and Texas Tech.
Baylor (0-2) lost to Oklahoma and K-State.
