SEC Roller Coaster: Week 8

Teams have shifted around in the "needs help" categories, but there wasn't too much separation by the destiny controllers this week.  That was largely due to most teams either playing across divisions or out of conference.

East
Controls destiny:
-Georgia (4-1) has tiebreakers over Tennessee, Vanderbilt, and Missouri.  Their loss is to South Carolina.
-Kentucky (2-2) has tiebreakers over Vanderbilt and South Carolina.  Their loss was to Florida.

Needs help:
-Missouri (2-1) needs a Georgia loss, but has tiebreakers over South Carolina and Florida.
-Florida (2-3) has tiebreakers over Kentucky and Tennessee.
-South Carolina (2-3) owns tiebreakers over Georgia and Vanderbilt.

Let's start winning first:
-Tennessee (0-3) lost to Georgia and Florida.
-Vanderbilt (0-4) has already lost half of their conference slate. 

West
Controls destiny:
-Mississippi State (3-0) owns tiebreakers against LSU, Texas A&M, and Auburn.
-Ole Miss (4-0) owns a tiebreaker over Alabama and Texas A&M.

Needs help:
-Alabama (3-1) needs 2 Ole Miss losses, but has a tiebreaker over Arkansas and Texas A&M.
-Auburn (2-1) needs 2 Mississippi State losses, but has tiebreakers over Arkansas and LSU.
-Texas A&M (2-3) has a tiebreaker over Arkansas, but lost to Mississippi St, Ole Miss, and Alabama.
-LSU (2-2) lost to Auburn and Mississippi State.

Let's start winning first:
-Arkansas (0-4) lost to Auburn, Texas A&M, and Alabama.

Race to Charlotte
November 1:
--Georgia vs. Florida:  could get Florida back in contention.

November 8:
--Georgia at Kentucky:  destiny controllers in the East

November 29:
--Mississippi State at Ole Miss:  The Egg Bowl might determine the West.

Bowl eligible:  Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia, Alabama, LSU
One win away:  Auburn, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Missouri
Two wins away: 
Two losses away from not bowling:  Vanderbilt
