After a fun trip to Blacksburg (game result notwithstanding), it's time to look at the weekend ahead and find some under-the-radar matchups.
UAB at Arkansas
A game that shouldn't be that close, but given UAB's respectable performance against Mississippi State, might the Blazers find a way to keep it close with a much more beatable SEC team? Or will the Razorbacks regain their confidence, complete a perfect 4-0 record out of conference, and zero in on two SEC wins to get themselves back into a bowl?
Georgia Southern at Georgia State
Two FBS programs in the state of Georgia, neither of which are the Bulldogs or the Yellow Jackets. Southern has yet to lose a Sun Belt Conference game, wile State is still getting its feel as a program. A battle of GSU's...and if State wins, then ULL - and its shiny Tuesday win against Arkansas State - will have sole possession of the top of the conference.
Georgia Tech at Pitt
Speaking of the Yellow Jackets, they are still very much in the ACC Coastal hunt. As is Pittsburgh, despite losing 3 in a row before beating my Hokies last week (thankfully, for Pitt, 2 of their losses were out of conference). Virginia Tech became the first Coastal team to 3 ACC losses...might the team that was last to get even one loss join them?
State of Arizona at State of Washington
In an interesting cross-divisional pair of matchups in the PAC-12 that could help shape both Divisions, Arizona State plays at Washington, while Arizona plays at Washington State. In both cases, the Arizona schools are ranked and looking to continue on with their championship hopes. Both Washington schools, meanwhile, have likely played themselves out of Division contention, though they have the potential to keep up with a good team and perhaps pull an upset. Division standings, bowl hopes, and possibly the state of the Top 25 could all hang in the balance of this pair of AZ-at-WA games.
